My name is McKenzie and I’m the founder of LICKS of Cape Cod. I’ve wanted a dog since I could speak but, my parents were not convinced. The first dog I fell in love with was Mr. Toby the five-year-old, most handsome, gentle beagle I’d ever met. I loved him so much I got my first pet and BEST friend Tyson, my tri-colored beagle. Inseparable and love is an understatement.
When Tyson was a puppy, my first stop was the local pet stores to find him some goodies. My plan was to find him some delicious treats to incentivize his potty training with that sniffer! I needed any help I could get. My house was taking a beating from our newest member of the family.
Tyson was the farthest thing from picky. Truthfully, he would probably eat just about anything that was put in front of him. After, I took a closer look at the ingredients I was horrified. If I couldn’t pronounce it, it couldn’t be good!
I couldn’t possibly feed this to Tyson! Instead of searching the internet for hours trying to hunt down healthy ingredients, that barely existed, at a crazy cost. I thought…. If pets can eat these ingredients, humans should be able to too! Our pets deserve the best!
I started making all-natural frozen “ice cream” cups, bones, gummies, and all sorts of treats for Tyson, and the two other dogs that were in the family. The three dogs couldn’t get enough and the amazing support I had around me started spreading the word before I could even ask or knew.
 My dream is slowly becoming more and more of a reality. With the help of our loyal pets and customers, we can produce and sell healthy pet products— which LICKS will always proudly stand behind.
